Original Anthrax guitarist Spitz and Megadeth main man Mustaine have sold over 50 million albums between them and had at the last count 15 nominations at the Grammy’s.
This landmark album is not only a showcase for the combined talent of Spitz/Mustaine, but also a highlight of how artists can unite to make a musical effort that can not only please fans, but make a real difference too.
Spitz’s twins have autism and this saw him create an album that sought to acknowledge the condition that can effect one in every 88 children born. His wife is a tireless supporter of the non profit charity Autism Speaks.
Mustaine said ‘I rolled up my sleeves and I completely dedicated myself to Danny’s record. Working tirelessly in my studio with him. It is really good and like a cross between Disturbed, Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine. There are bits of anthrax in there too, it is a more heavy sounding album too.’
Red Lamb as as stand alone release ticks a lot of rock/metal boxes and it will please fans across the board too. The songs have meaning, the lyrics ring true to us all and the music itself strike sa chord deep within us all. Throw in the charity factor and talent involved, and you have one exceptionally special album.
Red Lamb is released on December 10th 2012 and is in aid of Autism Awareness.www.redlambofficial.com
