Lady Mary was born and raised in London to wealthy landowner, Jamie Neidpath, and former journalist of Andy Warhol's Interview magazine, Catherine Hesketh. She was introduced to the world of high fashion from a young age, and mentored by family friend and international style icon, the late Isabella Blow. At just 14-years-old Mary was modelling for Blow on Tatler shoots, mingling at high-flying parties, and behaving raucously.
Mary the Muse
Through her friendship with Blow, Mary began to work with “the greatest millner in the world,” (as Lady Gaga introduced him at London Fashion Week Spring 2013) Philip Treacy, who still uses Mary today if he needs someone to model his creations for a photoshoot or pre- fashion week viewings. You can often catch them giggling and fooling around together at the trendiest of fashion shows and parties.
Model Moments
Mary is a natural under the spotlight: her urban-chic look inspiring avant garde designers who simply brood over her golden locks and expressive beauty. She has shot for US Vogue, British Vogue, Vanity Fair, Teen Vogue, Purple, Jalouse and Dazed, working with the likes of Mario Testino, Terry Richardson, and Olivier Zahm.
Mary has also collaborated on special projects with a host of designers including Louis Vuitton, Jason Wu, Thakoon, and Markus Lupfer.
Mary Now
We would like to remind our readers, that living the life of aristocracy and high fashion is no easy task, and Mary - who is represented by Insanity Artists - always seems to take a sartorialists angle, even when she hits the catwalk. Modelling for Pam Hogg’s Spring 2013 show at London Fashion Week is a prime example of what we mean - dressed in a barely-there net halter top, with matching knickers, hat, gloves, and shoes! Mary famously wore the eccentric Hogg’s design for her wedding with Big Pink frontman Robbie Furze early in September, whose star-studded guest list, would have given even a Chanel show a run for its money. When she’s not busy DJing at fashion parties, showcasing the latest pieces for boutique stores, choosing clothes for Lula magazine, and rubbing shoulders with besties, actress Tallulah Harlech, and stylist Sophia Hesketh, word on the grapevine is that Mary is busy designing for her own fashion label. Only fashion time will tell and FashionTV will be first on the scene to find out what’s next for our rock ‘n’ roll Lady.
